Kingdom Books, Mysteries & Poetry

Westlake: Sorry for the clumsy posting, I'm still getting used to all this and can't figure out where my draft went! At any rate, what's giving me the most fun in prepping for Westlake's visit is discovering that each pen name (10 plus the Westlake name) comes with a separate persona. For instance, there's Donald Westlake, Don’t Ask (Mysterious Press, 1993).
This is my favorite Dortmunder novel, a fast-paced and giggling Westlake mystery that cuts diplomacy and religion down to size, while (as always) proving that friends can get you out of almost any mess – that is, unless, like John Dortmunder, you get kidnapped to a foreign country. A little initiative comes in handy at that point! Fans of the Dortmunder series will savor the role that Tiny plays in this book: Did you know he’s from Tsergovia? And what does Tsergovia need from Dortmunder and crew? Don’t ask. Just read. And oh yes, prepare to laugh, guffaw, snicker, and giggle. (Final aside: Maybe one reason I like this one best is because some parts of it happen in Vermont. Yes!)
